Melissa Johnson, PharmD, MHS, AAHIVP
Dr. Melissa Johnson is a professor in medicine at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and a liaison clinical pharmacist for the Duke Antimicrobial Stewardship Outreach Network (DASON). She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University and completed a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases as well as a Master of Health Science program through Duke University School of Medicine. She also served as the President of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists in 2022-2023. Dr. Johnson was part of the team for the first paper focused on in this episode titled “Top Myths of Diagnosis and Management of Infectious Diseases in Hospital Medicine” published in the American Journal of Medicine in July 2022.
Jason Gallagher, PharmD, FCCP, FIDP, FIDSA, BCPS
Dr. Jason Gallagher is a professor at Temple University School of Pharmacy and clinical pharmacy specialist at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers University, completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia, and completed a PGY-2 Transplant Infectious Diseases residency at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He is also the current director of the PGY-2 Infectious Diseases pharmacy residency program at Temple as well as the editor-in-chief of Contagion Live. In 2015-2016, he also served as the President of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists. Dr. Gallagher was the senior author on the 2nd publication focused on in this episode titled “Antibiotic Myths for the Infectious Diseases Clinician” published in Clinical Infectious Diseases in June 2023.
