Pranita Tamma, MD, MHS
Dr. Pranita Tamma is an associate professor of Pediatrics in the division of infectious diseases and the director of the Pediatric antimicrobial stewardship program at The John Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on improving the understanding of gram-negative bacterial resistance, improving available diagnostics to identify gram-negative resistant pathogens, and optimizing therapeutic choices for infections caused by drug resistant gram negative organisms. She currently has research funding from the NIH, the FDA, the CDC, and AHRQ to investigate these areas.
Sam Aitken PharmD, MPH, BCIDP
Dr. Sam Aitken is a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases at the University of Michigan and an adjunct clinical professor of pharmacy at Michigan’s College of Pharmacy. He completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and then an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Houston. He previously served as an ID pharmacist at MD Anderson Cancer Center where he became one of the world’s leading experts in immunocompromised infectious diseases. He has experience in treating resistant pathogens in complex hosts, has made a career in leveraging pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic knowledge, and utilization of the interplay of antibiotic bug post dynamics in order to optimize patient care.
