#39 – A Little More on the Littles: What Adults Should Know about ID Pediatrics

In this rapidfire episode Dr. Erin Weslander (@littlebugdrug), Dr. Laura Bio (@StanfordPedsASP), and Dr. Diana Yu (@dyupharmd) reveal their super-secret ID toolkit to figure out dosing and approaches to treatment in pediatric patients.

Laura Bio, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP

Dr. Laura Bio is a clinical pharmacist specialist in pediatric antimicrobial stewardship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, California. She completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at Temple University Hospital and a pediatric pharmacy practice specialty residency at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Her research interests include evaluating antimicrobial stewardship interventions through quality improvement projects, improving antimicrobial dosing regimens based on pharmacokinetics, and reducing patient exposure to unnecessary antimicrobials.

Diana Yu, PharmD, MS, BCPS

Dr. Diana Yu is a pediatric infectious diseases pharmacist at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital which is associated with OSHU Healthcare in Portland, Oregon. She completed her pharmacy degree at University of California-San Francisco School of Pharmacy in 2008, followed by pharmacy practice residencies at University of Kentucky Healthcare and University of Illinois at Chicago. Additionally, she received her Masters of Science in Biostatistics from University of Kansas Medical Center. Her research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, implementation of clinical practice guidelines, and antimicrobial usage metrics.
