Erin McCreary, PharmD, BCIDP
Dr. McCreary is a Clinical Assistant Professor and ID Clinical Pharmacist at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy education at the Auburn University Harrrison School of Pharmacy then completed both her PGY1 and PGY2 ID residency at the University of Wisconsin Health. She has served as a member of the American Society for Microbiology Planning Committee and is the chair of the SIDP Publications Committee. Her areas of interest include infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship in immunocompromised hosts, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic optimization.
Ryan Shields, PharmD, MS
Dr. Ryan Shields is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Shields completed his PGY1 residency at Saint Louis University Hospital followed by a PGY2 residency in Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Shields has an interest in research focused on antimicrobial drug resistance in gram-negative bacteria and yeast, use of molecular markers of resistance to predict patient responses to treatment, use of pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models to suppress and overcome antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods, and the clinical impact of infections due to extensively-drug resistant pathogens.
