Professor Mical Paul and Professor Jesús Rodríguez-Baño join Professor Josh Davis and Dr Erin McCreary for a special Breakpoints and Communicable podcast collaboration. This episode discusses the ‘Trials Run’ session at ESCMID Global, where two randomized, clinical trials are presented in great depth. This year, both trials focused on treatment of cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacterales bacteremia. Michal Paul is a professor in the research track at the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. She serves as Head of the Infectious Diseases Institute at the Rambam Health Care Campus. Dr. Paul is an editor for Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI) and is actively involved in the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), where she contributes to guideline development as part of the ESCMID Guidelines group.
Jesús Rodríguez-Baño, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Seville and serves as Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville, Spain. He is a past president of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Microbiology and Infection (CMI).
