Dr. David Andes
Dr. Andes is the William A Craig Professor in the Departments of Medicine, Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI and Director of the Wisconsin Antimicrobial Drug Discovery and Development Center. The focus of his research programs strive to identify strategies to combat antimicrobial (especially antifungal) drug resistance. His study tactics span from the bench to the clinic, including identifying biofilm resistance mechanisms, discovering new antimicrobial drugs and targets, delineating the optimal dosing strategies for treatment of drug resistant infections using PK/PD approaches in preclinical infection models, and clinical trial study of epidemiology and therapy of drug resistance.
Dr. Isabel Spriet
Dr. Spriet is a currently the lead of clinical pharmacy services of the pharmacy department at the University Hospitals in Leuven, Belgium. In addition to her pharmacy training and background, she has a fellowship in clinical pharmacy services from the University of Leuven and her PhD in pharmaceutical sciences. Her research interests include antimicrobial pharmacokinetics in special patient populations (like the critically ill and patients with obesity, and the development of innovative digital strategies to support antimicrobial stewardship in hospital settings.
